News Roundup

This week’s news roundup covers various stories from Alexandra Savior’s tour to the race for Christmas Number One. Although it’s been a quieter week this week, hopefully this’ll shed some light on a few events.

Firstly, Alexandra Savior has announced her ‘Goodbye, old friend’ US tour, significant because to date she hasn’t released anything since 2020 so there is a chance this could be the start of something big like new music. This is especially exciting as she went through a long period of social media darkness where it seemed like this time might never come, so hopefully we might be heading towards her third album, a record I’m eagerly awaiting as her first two are such masterpieces.

Next, Phoebe Bridgers has announced a holiday restock of her collection with Catbird. If you’ve got a couple hundred to spare, these silver and gold charms are totally stunning and a great Christmas gift for the people in your life who like Phoebe.

Finally, the race for Christmas Number One begins next week and, at the moment, it’s extra exciting because there are so many different contenders. What with the previous three years’ winner Ladbaby not releasing anything this year, the title is well and truly anyone’s game. There are many new charity singles coming out, and of course so many Christmas classics that could take the top spot. That said, my prediction for this year is definitely ‘Fairytale of New York’ after Shane MacGowan’s death just over a week ago. Get streaming your favourite Christmas songs from the 15th!
